Actually there is no “reply” button to admin message, so I add this message.

    Thank yo very much!
    Now it works.
I commented “collections” in import section in line 16 too.

    Regards
    Giovanni

    • Thanks for the feedback, i must make changes in the script following your indications, thanks again for your contribution

  2. thank you for the pattern-fill
your 6c download was missing the files
araknepathshapecreatorshapes.py and pnt2d.py, this could confuse some first time users

  3. I am not able to use version 6 of path-shape-creator.
Version 5 works, but if I replace it with version 6 it does not wok anymore.
I can’t see “path” item in filters menu.
I am using Gimp 2.8 on Mac.

    • By error packing the zip i’ve forget to add araknepathshapecreatorshapes.py and pnt2d.py, this could be the reason that don’t work for you the script, download again the zip with the two py added. Scusa per l’errore

      • No problem. You don’t need to apologize… I thank you for the script (and your help).
It seems to be a great piece of software, but I downloaded it again and it keeps on not working.
When Gimp starts the first time, two new .pyc files are crated in the folder. Hence Gimp knows that the plugin are there, but it won’t use it.

        • Hi Giovani, you can launch the gimp in mac from the command line with the option –verbose? This will gave us some clue of what is failing

          • Launching Gimp 2.8.10 from terminal (surprise!), simply it crashes…

            dyld: Library not loaded: /tmp/skl/Gimp.app/Contents/Resources/lib/libgimpwidgets-2.0.0.dylib
            Referenced from: /Grafica/Gimp.app/Contents/MacOS/./gimp-2.8
            Reason: image not found
            Trace/BPT trap

But, I am wondering: what’s the difference from path-shape-creator version 5 (it works) and version 6 (it doesn’t)?

          • Hi Giovanni, the more important change between both versions is the separation of the shapes in an external folder, coud be some of the new functions or modules used in 6th version not are availables in the mac version

          • Did anyone eat my previous reply? :-)

I ran Gimp from terminal (even if, on Mac it is not quite the right mode to run it) and here is the output:
            —————–
GIMP-Errore: Unable to run plug-in “shapes”
            (/Users/giovanni/Desktop/arakne-path-shape-creator6c/shapes)

AttributeError: ‘module’ object has no attribute ‘OrderedDict’
            ————–

            Notes an puzzles:
All the files in the folder have the “executable” flag.
“shapes” is a folder, why does it try to run it?

          • Hi Giovanni, seems that in the mac version the object collections don’t have the function OrderedDict, you can try to comment the line 88 of arakne-path-shape-creator6.py change:
            SHAPES2=collections.OrderedDict(sorted(SHAPES2.items(), key=lambda t: t[1][‘tit’]))
            to:
            # SHAPES2=collections.OrderedDict(sorted(SHAPES2.items(), key=lambda t: t[1][‘tit’]))
That line only sort the dropdown list of shapes names, i hope tihs solves the error in mac
